Thanks to Jemena for inviting us to help them put together a demonstration of powering a household with bikes.
We used the bike generator set-up we used for the Siemens FUTURIDE event last December. Siemens approved use of their equipment for this community event.
Carle fro Jemena organised a typical “morning” in a single person household and up to 30 riders strained and sweated to deliver the power required to run the lights, TV, kettle, toaster, hairdryer, microwave and Iron. (Not all at once!!).
A fantatsic demonstration of how much energy different appliances use.
Thanks Jemena and Carle!
Check out the Jemena youtube clip.
Thanks to RICOH for organising a competition day for staff, clients and the Hawthorn Footy club.
Ricoh called it their Eco Action Day, in the lead-up to World Environment Day.
Check out the link to the Hawthorn Football club Newsletter for more info and some photo’s.
Wow! What a great start to 2010 we have had with presence at festivals!
February March and April are very crowded months for festivals in Melbourne and regional Victoria, and we have been very excited to have participated in 14 of them in the last 3 months!...
Some Future Spark power generation cycles will be attending the Big Day Out as it travels around Australia. Four bike will be stationed at the Lily Pad so attendees can get some exercise while watching the acts. Two of the bikes will be pumping air into an inflatable man and two will be providing a small electrical power outlet for people to recharge their phones.
