SLF: The test run a huge success!

The Future Spark trailer made its debut appearance at the Sustainable Living Festival this weekend. It was very exciting to see the finished masterpiece in action!

Many people had a go on the bike trailer, and everyone showed a great deal of interest, wanting to know the ins and outs of how it all works! A lot of people were keen to do their bit and generate a little power for the festival, and also to test out their own abilities as compared to everyone else. It was fantastic to have a bit of healthy competition between some students and teachers, different classes, parents and children and between friends. Over the weekend everyone combined generated 3 kWh. Congratulations!

Whilst this is a fantastic effort, we need a lot more than that to power the Earth Hour Concert! Make sure you get your teams in the team challenge to make sure that Augie March and the Earth Hour Superband have enough power to put on a fabulous show!

It was so awesome to see the trailer at the Sustainable Living Festival! SO inspiring! What a great thing it was to see someone's idea, to put a motor behind a bike, realised; to put a motor behind human effort and extract energy; to make it plain to see that human energy can be harnessed and is on the same frequency as burning coal; to witness the power and beauty of win win and of purely beneficial outcomes, created by humans, enhanced by technology.... everyone wants to get fit, and now everyone wants to save the earth by reducing greenhouse gas emmissions. THanks guys, for providing such an awesome, inspiring experience that exemplifies what's possible.... if only all gyms were running their classes this way and sending power back into the grid. If all schools could be involved in the sport...! THanks for making it easy....possible.... good luck to Melbournians with the teams. I hope we all book ourselves in!
