The Zero Carbon World Concert
The Zero Carbon World Concert for a Zero Carbon World was an international series of concerts taking place worldwide just before the UN climate summit began in Mexico.
This was a FREE event proudly sponsored by Nillumbik Council, Freeza and Future Spark.
The aim was to demonstrate to all of society – governments, businesses, and ordinary people, that reducing the reliance of today’s society on fossil fuels is entirely possible by tackling one of the biggest generators of carbon – leisure activities.
The Melbourne Concert was held at Edendale Farm in Eltham on Sunday 28th November from 10am to 6pm.
The event was a challenge and a celebration of what is possible when we work together with creativity and passion.
SUCCESS. An Energy Positive Zero Carbon Concert
Congratulations to crowd and bands who braved the unseasonally cold and wet Melbourne weather. We had a fantastic day of music from 10 local bands. AND generated more energy than the concert required.

The Challenge
Generating the power for the concert:- get a team together, or ride as a family, or an individual. Check out the registration details here to let us know when you would like to ride. Each team gets 4 bikes. Plan to swap riders regularly because it is hard work. A team of 8 or more for the 4 bikes is a good plan. We will schedule teams in 30 minute blocks. (Register Here)
Alternatively just rock up and jump on a spare bike when one becomes available.
Transport
Plan your trip to and from Edendale to be zero carbon. A great family challenge and conversation. Consider using the train, with a 20-minute walk from Eltham station.

What the Zero Carbon World Concerts are all about: - Building strong community.
- Don’t wait for government to act.
- Act locally to have an impact globally.
Send a message to the negotiators in Mexico, that we are not afraid of a challenge, that we are prepared to make changes in our lives to reduce our demand on diminishing resources and reduce our contribution to environmental and atmosphere degradation.
